With deepest sorrow, I share the heartbreaking news of my brother, Michael Orchard's passing. He died on the evening of Thursday, January 23rd, 2025, in Louisville, KY, at the young age of 34. Born in Danville, IL, Michael's life was tragically cut short while bravely attempting to prevent a carjacking – a selfless act that reflects the kind and courageous man he was. The car, I should mention, was previously owned by his late younger brother, Craig.
Michael's passions were many and vibrant. He had a deep love for cars, spending countless hours working on them and admiring their mechanics. He possessed a childlike enthusiasm for Legos, a hobby he revisited often, showcasing his creative spirit. He also enjoyed the tranquility of nature, finding solace in hiking and fishing. Beyond these interests, his greatest love was his family and friends. He cherished the time spent with each of us, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and laughter.
He is survived by his beloved son, Carter Borst; his mother, Valerie Richards; his father, Michael W. Orchard; his sisters, myself (Joy Orchard) and Shania Perez; and his grandparents, Sue MacDuff and James Orchard.
The void he leaves behind is immeasurable, but the memories we shared will forever remain in our hearts. Let us take comfort in remembering his infectious smile, his generous spirit, and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. Messages and memories may be left on our website at www.KrugerCoanPape.com, or on the Kruger Funeral Home Facebook page.
