Molly Galey Obituary

It with a heavy heart that we announce that Molly Karen Galey became an angel on the evening of June 15, 2020, at the age of 70.  Molly was born September 7, 1949.  She was preceded in death by both parents, her brother, six sisters, including her twin sister, Polly Galey, and Molly’s long-time companion, Robert, of 18 years.

Molly was a devoted and loving mother to her surviving children:  her daughter, Tammy, and son, Kenneth (Jasmine).   She is also survived by three wonderful sisters, Barbara Cochran, Leanna (Charles) Thomas and Colleen (Mohammad) Samii, a brother, Mike Kennedy (Joyce), in addition to her six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews that were all close to her heart and who she loved dearly.

Molly worked for Solo Cup Company in Urbana for many years until she started her own cleaning business.  She took a lot of pride in her work and it definitely showed.  Molly was a super fun and very genuine person with a happy spirit and was full of life.  She never met a stranger and was a trooper until the very end of her life.

Molly loved music, country music especially, and is surely singing her country songs very loudly in heaven.  Amongst the many things she might be caught doing in heaven are getting her nails done, adding to her massive jewelry collection, playing any kind of games (very competitively we must add), watching “The Price is Right”, as well as spending time alongside her beloved dogs:  Ellie and Petie.

Molly, you will be sorely missed, but we will see you again.  Until then, fly high and dance with the angels.  We love you!
