Nancy Marie Horton, 64 of Danville, was taken from us far too soon, on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at OSF Sacred Heart in Danville. Per her wishes, she will be cremated. A Memorial Visitation celebrating her life will be on Saturday, July 8th from 11-1pm at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville, with a eulogy being read at 1pm. Following her services, her Celebration of Life will continue at Sarge’s Tap, 409 E. Main Street.
Nancy was born to Charles and Charlotte (Cope) Harmeson on February 17, 1959. She was raised in Oakwood, where she attended schools, graduating from Oakwood High School in 1978. Nancy was a social person who loved to talk, make jokes, and enjoy life. She worked as a bartender and also cleaned houses throughout the years at numerous local places. When she wasn’t working Nancy enjoyed working puzzles, gardening, mushroom hunting, and spending time with those she loved.
Nancy married Tom Horton on July 31, 1999, and the two have shared just shy of twenty-four years of marriage. She leaves behind her husband Tom; two sisters: Lisa (Dewey) McClain and Vickie (Donald) Albright; two brothers: Steve (Donna) Harmeson and Brian Harmeson; numerous nieces and nephews; too many great nieces and nephews to count; and many, many friends. Nancy was preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother Charles “Chuckie” Harmeson Jr.
“Time for us to part now, we won’t say goodbye; Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky. Every waking moment and all your whole life through; Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.”
