Nancy J. Sidwell, 73 of Potomac, passed away on Thursday, June 18th, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her family. A Memorial Visitation will be on Thursday, June 25th from 10-Noon at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville.
Nancy was born on December 18, 1952 to Leslie “Sid” and Alberta (Hoskins) Sidwell. She attended school in the Newtown area and then took horticulture classes at DACC. Nancy was a jack of all trades and worked at DACC with the horticulture program, Georgia Tech in the mechanic’s department, and at both Price Less and The Spaghetti Shop. She even tried her hand at driving a school bus for a short time. When she wasn’t working, Nancy loved to be outdoors. From fishing and camping to spending time in her garden and flower beds. But above all else, she loved spending time with her grandbabies.
Nancy leaves behind four children: Selena Miller, Joe “Bo” Miller, James England, and Amanda (Wesley) Johnson; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters: Patty Sidwell and Loretta Baikie; three brothers: Rick Porter, Roger Porter, and Jr Sidwell; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Robert Sidwell and Sonny Hoskins, a daughter Tammy Miller, and a grandson Chris Miller.
