Norma Jean (Beadle) Dreher, 74, of Danville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living in Chrisman, Illinois
Born on August 17, 1950, in Danville to Noah and Lois Beadle, Norma spent most of her life in and around the Danville area.
On November 21, 1969, she married William Dreher. This union brought forth their family of four daughters: Amy Dreher, Kim Dreher (Mark Ross), Heather (Dennis) Lucas, and Rachel (Mike) Ford.
Norma was the youngest sister to Shula (Casey) Struckman and Elizabeth “Gail” Andrews. She was a devoted grandmother to Kylie (Dusty) Raymer, Brent (Kristen) Grubbs, Kristina (Eric) Morrison, Brittany (Blake) Laughlin, Alexandra (Dalton) Kropp, Natalie Davis, Abigail (Vinnie) Willer, and Harrison Lucas — and a joyful great-grandmother to 24 great-grandchildren.
She spent much of her life caring for others as a Qualified Medication Aide at Williamsport Nursing Home and later as a cashier at Walmart, where her friendly nature and infectious smile left a lasting impression. Norma never knew a stranger — she made everyone feel welcome and seen.
She loved thrifting, gathering family for holidays and birthdays, and telling anyone who would listen about her beloved children and grandchildren. Her family was her world and the world knew it.
While her absence leaves an inconsolable void in the lives of those who love her, there is comfort in knowing that Norma is now reunited with those who preceded her; her youngest daughter Rachel, her oldest sister Gail, and her parents, Noah and Lois, and a great grandson.
Special recognition and sincere thanks to Caitlin Purcell at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospice, and Katie Starr and the staff at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living for truly caring and seeing to all of her needs.
Pastor Jim Hollingsworth will officiate a graveside service Saturday, July 5th at 1pm at Walnut Corner Cemetery in Bismark, Illinois.
