Paul Gilbert Tomlinson

Paul Gilbert Tomlinson, 44, of Danville, IL, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025 at Carle Hospital in Champaign, IL.

Paul was born in Danville, IL to Rick and Kathy Tomlinson on March 2, 1981.  He went to school at Bismark-Henning High School and went on to take classes in welding. He worked as a general laborer. In the past, Paul worked at Danville Metal Stamping and later for some time at Thyssenkrupp. Paul loved working with his hands. He loved doing odd jobs for anyone who needed help. He was an Army veteran.  

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Richard “Rick” Tomlinson and Kathy (Gallion) Tomlinson; Paternal grandfather, Richard “Dick” Tomlinson; and Maternal grandparents, Hugh and Virginia Gallion. 

Paul is survived by his partner, Shanna Kingery of Danville, IL; his children, Connor Tomlinson, Logan Tomlinson, Ryker Tomlinson, Jackson Tomlinson and Anthony Taylor; brother, Kris Tomlinson of Montana, sister, Tiffany Tomlinson of Rossville, IL, half-sister, Lori (Rob) Mallory of Chrisman, IL and half-sister, Beth Tomlinson of Clinton, IN; paternal grandmother, Shirley Tomlinson of Danville, IL; nieces, Elizabeth Briggs and Gracie Briggs of Danville, IL; nephew, Caleb Briggs, of Danville, IL and Baron Mallory of Chrisman, IL; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Interment will be private at a later date. Kruger Coan Pape Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Danville 100 N Franklin St on Sunday, August 10th from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Enter at the covered Sanctuary Entrance at the south end of the parking lot.
