Raymond L. Powell, 73, of Danville, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 at home. Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Service will be at 10am Friday, June 11, 2021 at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home, with pastor Jeremy McLaughlin officiating. Military Honors will be the American Legion Post 210, along with the Danville Police & Patriot Honor Guard.
Raymond was born June 11, 1947 in Danville to Kelly and Lula (Crippin) Powell. After graduating from high school, Raymond was drafted into the US Army and served in Vietnam. Raymond joined the Danville Police Department in August 1971, and served for 30 years and retired in 2001. He enjoyed bowling, and loved watching NASCAR.
Raymond married Phyllis Schrader on October 26, 1969, she survives. Also surviving is a daughter Kimberly (Brian) Stultz; grandson Seth Halls; brothers: Kalley (Nancy) Powell, Chester (Cheri) Powell, Steven (Kelly) Powell, Mark Powell, Kevin (Rachel) Powell, and Paul Powell; sister: Emily Bencomo, and Carol (Kyle) Looper; special uncle Tom Crippin. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; sister Kathy Powell; brothers: Darrell Powell and Brian Powell
