Rhonda Clayton Obituary

Rhonda Joan Clayton, 70, of Danville, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at OSF Sacred Heart Hospital.  Per her wishes, there will be no public services.

Rhonda was born December 28, 1949 to Benjamin Neal Panther and Marjorie Lois Pearson.

Mom,

We never wanted this day to come.  You laid a solid foundation for our family.  Your love of music and dancing will carry on with us as a tradition handed down by you.  You’re known for your larger than life laugh.  It was always a party when we were all together.  No matter the struggles, you always found a way through.  Your greatest accomplishment is having a large family that remains so close; we call each other best friend.  You did that, Mom.  That is something that surpasses life on this earth.  You taught us to love one another and forgive quickly.  We promise to keep these traditions alive.  You refused to tell us goodbye, but always said, “See ya.”  So we say, “See ya, mom.  We love you eternally.”

Rhonda is survived by her children:

Marnajean Lorissa Amato, Anthony, Jason Gill, Erin Maureen Boyd, Lacy Danelle Mockbee (Matthew John Mockbee), Elainna Lois McCord, Donnie Iaian McPherson (Holly Gene McPhrson), Trista Joann Blakeney (Todd Cameron Alan Blakeney), and Alexis Ceara Rutledge (William Joseph “BJ” Rutledge III).

By her grandchildren:

Landon Iaian Michael Andrews, Sonja Paige Raysin, Savannah Ashlee Gill, Emerson Jane Gill, Trenton Austen Callon, Steven Daniel Judd, Matson Leid Mockbee, Nevin Kristopher Cooprider, Blaine Ashton McCord, Natalie Ellise Byers, Chloe Teress McPherson, Corinn Nirel McPherson, Finnegan Reign McPherson, Mason Riley Dupree, Karly Joann VanOstrand, and True Grace Blakeney.

By her great-grandchildren:

Ira James Hoskins and Alaric Jeffrey Austen Callon

She is preceded in death by her parents.  She never felt the pain of her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren passing before her.

And now these three remain:  faith, hope, and love.  But the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV
