Richard Eugene Treadway, 80 of Danville, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 21, 2025. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 29th from 2-4pm at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Graveside Services will be at Oak Hill Cemetery (off of Shangri La Road) at 10am on Monday, June 30, 2025.
Rich was born August 9, 1944 in Danville to Leonard and Celia (Palmer) Treadway. He attended Danville Grade Schools and graduated from DHS in 1962. Once he was done with school he worked at Leath Furniture as a delivery driver for several years. After that Rich worked at Hyster for thirty-five years as a finish painter until his retirement in 2004.
When he wasn’t working, Rich loved racing stock cars for more than thirty years. He loved to work on his cars and get his hands dirty. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Richard married Tama Sanders on July 4, 1965 and the two have shared just shy of sixty years together. Rich also leaves behind his sons: Richard Treadway Jr, Jami Treadway, and Brad Treadway; his daughter: Ariya; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-laws: Dorothy Treadway of Georgetown and Joyce Treadway of Utah; two brothers-in-laws: Larry (Linda) Sanders of Texas and Terry Sanders of Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Tom Treadway; a grandson Jason Juvinall; three brothers: Terry Treadway, Donnie Treadway, and Chuck Treadway; and a sister: Violet Cockrell.
