Robert “Bob” Leathers Jr, went Home to be with The Lord on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at his home. Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. A secondary visitation will be from 10-11am on Monday, January 8th at Grayville First Christian Church, 118 North Ct. Street in Grayville, Illinois. Services will follow promptly at 11am with graveside services to follow at Oak grove Cemetery.
Bob was born in August 11, 1943 in Durham, NC to Robert and Lena (Mason) Leathers Sr. He attended school in Grayville, Illinois graduating from Grayville High School in 1962. Bob drove a semi-truck for McLane and retired in 2005. After that he began working for First Student as a School Bus Monitor. Bob was a very spiritual man with firm beliefs in The Lord. He coached his son’s baseball teams when he was a youth, and enjoyed fishing and camping. Above all else he enjoyed playing and spending time with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
Bob married Betty Holland on September 16, 1962 and the two have shared sixty-one years together. Through the good and the bad, they’ve never left one another’s sides. He leaves behind his wife Betty; four grandchildren: Shaley (William) Guge, Tyler Leathers, Josh Leathers, and Dakota Leathers; and four great-grandchildren: Lexis, Mariah, Traelynn, and Braedyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, two children: Tammy Hoffman and Terry Leathers, and a grandson: Matthew Hoffman.
