Robert L Spoden

Robert ‘Bob” Spoden, 92 of Danville, passed away peacefully in his home on April 23, 2026. Per his wishes there will be only private family services.

   Bob was born October 3, 1933 in Danville to John and Marguerite (Nash) Spoden. He attended Danville schools and graduated from Danville High School. Bob was a policeman for the City of Danville for twenty-five years and then went on to serve as a Deputy Sheriff for Vermilion County for another twenty-eight years. He loved animals and they always had a dog. His doberman Baron was his baby.

   Bob married Barbara Swisher on September 23, 1983 and the two have spent the past forty-three years by one another’s sides. He leaves behind his daughters: Robin Greer-Jogun (Eric) and Mary Margaret Greer-Ritzheimer (Brian); and his only grandson: Caleb.
