Robert Van Duyn, 63, of Danville, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. A private gathering will be planned for friends and family at a later date.
Robert was born February 20, 1958 in Danville, IL to Carl and Lois (Knerr) Van Duyn. Robert attended Danville High School and worked many years in maintenance at Vermilion Garden Apartments. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and attending dirt track races. His favorite race track to visit is Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH. Robert raced himself for several years and enjoyed working on the cars whether it was his or a friends. Robert enjoyed taking care of his many plants, fishing, spending time with friends and family and taking his dog Buddy with him everywhere he'd go.
Robert leaves behind his three children Andy (Kandy) Lomax, Elizabeth (Patrick) Burks, and Kyle (Robin) Van Duyn. He also leaves his brother Dennis (Mary) Van Duyn, sister in law Linda Van Duyn, and brother in law Tony Curry. His grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Many friends and neighbors who have also become like family to him as well. All that will miss him dearly.
Robert was proceeded in death by his wife Laura (Ellis) Van Duyn, his parents, brother Charles Van Duyn, and sister Sharon (Van Duyn) Curry.
