Ronald Edward Roberts

   Ronald Edward Roberts was born December 23, 1934 in Danville, Illinois. He took his last breath on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 after eighty eight wonderful years.

   Ronnie was born on December 23, 1934, the eldest of three boys, to Ray G. and Catherine C. (Gonguar) Roberts. He attended Danville grade schools and graduated from Danville High School. Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and close friends, and watching Jimmy Swaggart daily.  He and his father owned Sager’s Feed Mill for many years together. Ronnie later worked as a Laborer for fifty years for Local Union 703. He was also a proud 32nd Degree Mason.

  Ronnie married Dolores Christie on May 22, 1954 and the two of them built a wonderful life together. He adored and worshipped Dolores, and they enjoyed every walk of life they took together. She preceded him in death after spending over fifty-five years together in June of 2009.

   Ron leaves behind his three children: Christie (Ronald) Roth, Jay (Kathy) Roberts, and  James (Paula) Roberts; six grandchildren: Jason Roberts, Shannon (Kolin) Peterson, Tara (Damon) Bellik, Sabrina (Brock) Berard, Katelyn Roberts, and Darryl Neff; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dolores, and his two brothers: Dr Jerry (Arlene) Roberts and Richard (Kathy) Roberts.

    Visitation will be on Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 2-6pm at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Funeral Services will begin at 10am Monday at Kruger Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Jackson officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ronald’s name to an organization of the donor’s choice.
