Samuel Palmer Jr, 73 of Danville, left this world for the next, on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Accolade Healthcare Center. Per his wishes, he will be cremated and laid to rest with his beloved Marian in a private service at Danville National Cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded.
Samuel was born on February 18, 1948 in Danville to Samuel and Betty (Felgenhauer) Palmer. He attended Danville area schools before enlisting in the US Navy in June of 1968. He served for nearly four years before leaving the service. Upon returning, Samuel worked at GM for many years.
His passion was horses and baling hay with his “brother” Rod Vredenburgh. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and running beagles with his best friend, Doug Zook.
Samuel married Marian Sue on October 28, 1974, and she preceded him in July of 2020. Surviving are his children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren. His mother Betty Palmer also survives. He was preceded in death by his father and brother.
