Sandra Stewart 81, of Danville passed away Tuesday January 2, 2024, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville with her family by her side. Sandy was born May 12, 1942, the daughter of Clarence and Ruth (Keith) Fields. Sandy married Duane Stewart, April 23, 1994, and they were able to spend the last 30 years travelling and making memories together.
Surviving Sandy is her husband Duane of Danville, her children; Brenda (Don) Beckner of St. Anne, Dean (Denise) Dandurand of St. Anne, Jolie (Bill) Burris of Oakwood and Michelle (Dennis) Stark of Oakwood, her grandchildren; Andrea Dandurand, Autumn Dandurand, Cole (Brittany) Burris and Carli Burris, great grandchildren; Broden Dandurand, Hayden Ortman and Wren Burris. Sandy also loved all her bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren as well. Also surviving are her siblings; Ed (Irleen) Fields of Bourbonnais and Kathy (Dale) Patchett of Kankakee.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, a son Greg Dandurand, a bonus son Barry Stewart, Sisters Donna Girard and Darlene Rogowski. Brother-in-law Gary Stewart and Sister-in-law Sandra Burgoyne.
Sandy worked as a waitress over the years, she never thought of it as a job, and she thoroughly enjoyed serving others. Some may know her from her many years at the Colonial Parkway in Danville or the Oakwood Truck Stop. Sandy was an avid bowler and bowled on a league with her friends up until a couple of years ago. Sandy enjoyed reading, watching her shows, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
Visitation for Sandy will be from 11-1pm on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Services will follow at 1pm with Raymie Gordon officiating.
