Sharon Rose Martin, 83, of Danville, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her home on May 9, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend, and her presence will be dearly missed.
Born on November 22, 1942, in Danville, Illinois, Sharon’s life was centered on faith, love, and loyalty to her family. She married Paul “Bob” Martin Sr. on May 9, 1964 and together they built a home filled with love and devotion. She dedicated 31 years of service in District 118, where she was the food service coordinator. She was also a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. Her relationship with God guided every part of her life. Sharon loved serving at summer church camps and sharing the love of Jesus with everyone she knew. She lived her faith openly and faithfully, always pointing others toward God through her words and actions.
Sharon cherished her family deeply. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, collecting photographs and photo albums, and telling stories filled with treasured memories from years gone by. Her strength, resilience, and steadfast faith left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul “Bob” Martin Sr., her son, Kenneth D. Martin and her daughter in law, Brenda Grimes. On the very anniversary she shared with her husband, Sharon was called home to Heaven, where she is now reunited with the love of her life in eternal peace.
She is survived by her children, Doug Grimes, Paula Martin, and Paul (Angela) Martin Jr.; her grandchildren, Paul Martin III, Amy (Aaron) Johnson, Heather Martin, Dylan Martin, Michael (Paige) Martin, Daniel Grimes, Donell (Crystal) Grimes, Melissa (John) Matta, Linda Grimes, Jacoby Grimes, Michael Dillon, Lexi Lloyd, and Brantlee Songer; her treasured great-grandchildren, Mari, Kingston, Kyndall, Rayne, Natalie Rose, Aisley, Arlie, Adalee, Lincoln, Mason, Kelly, Stacy, Kelsey, Kristen, Carmen, Zachary and Andrew; and her 10 great-great grandchildren.
Her life was one of faith, devotion and love for family. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort knowing she is now home with the Lord.

Visitation services will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Funeral services will immediately follow at the funeral home at 12pm with Pastor Joe Humrichous officiating. Sharon will be laid to rest in Danville National Cemetery with her husband following services.
