Shirley Ann Pierce, 88 of Danville, passed away at OSF Sacred Heart Hospital in Danville on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Services will be at Noon on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior from 11-12pm at Kruger Funeral Home. Burial will follow services at the Danville National Cemetery committal shelter.
Shirley was born on January 16, 1937 to Albert and Sylvia (Sigler) Sherman. She attended Danville schools through 8th grade. Shirley married James Mitchell in the early fifties and the two later divorced. She later married Raymond Pierce in December of 1962, and the two were married until his passing in November of 2007.
Shirley enjoyed listening to vinyl records- especially Western music and old dance music, and gardening. She also liked to play the piano until her health would no longer allow it.
Shirley leaves behind her son: Bob (Kasi) Mitchell; two grandchildren: Anthony “Tony” Mitchell and Angela D. Mitchell-Kelly; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and multiple brothers and sisters.
