Shirley Ann Quick, 89 of Danville, passed peacefully in her home on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Graveside services will be at 3pm on Saturday, June 15th at Lutheran Cemetery in Danville with Pastor Yonkers officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband Don.
Shirley was born November 4, 1934 in Danville. She was raised by her parents Wilbur and Helen (Niccum) Borgwald. Shirley attended Elmwood and Douglas Grade Schools and graduated from Danville High School in 1952. In November of 1952 she turned eighteen and was finally able to marry her longtime beau Charles ‘Don” Quick. The two shared sixty-nine years together before he passed away in 2021. Shirley was a bookkeeper for many years at the Redwood Inn and Sheraton, as well as a telephone operator.
Shirley enjoyed making her house a home, reading mysteries and Janet Evanovich, and was a true St. Louis Cardinals, Fighting Illini, and Chicago Bears fan. She loved her family and her church family, and always worked hard to make them proud.
Shirley leaves behind her two children: Lori Warburton and Ronald (Bonnie) Quick; grandchildren: Nicole (Nick) Jackson and Jason Quick; her two great-grandchildren: Dixie and Raylan; her sister: Janice (Jim) Chalkus; her brother: Mike (Linda) Borgwald; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, her husband Don Quick, her son-in-law: Jeff Warburton, and a handful of nieces and nephews that were near and dear to her heart.
