Walter was born on November 12, 1958 in Chicago to Walter and Marjorie (Kennedy) Schwartz. He enjoyed watching Chicago sports and was a huge Cubs and Bears fan. When he was physically able, he loved to bowl and spent many years bowling in different leagues.
