William Smalley, 66 of Danville, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. A Memorial Visitation will be from 11-1pm on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Kruger Coan Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. He will later be interred at Sunset Memorial Park next to his parents.

Bill was born June 23, 1955 to William and Frances (Johnson) Smalley. He attended school in Bismarck, graduating from Bismarck Henning High School in 1973. Bill was a member of the Illinois National Guard, Charlie Company, for many years. He worked as a painter for the family business, Smalley Painting and Sand Blasting for a majority of his career, as well as other professions including being a truck driver.  He was a proud member of Olive Branch Masonic Lodge and the NRA. Bill was an outdoorsman, and could often be found fishing and hunting, as well as working in his garden. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.  He was an animal lover, and had a huge heart. Most of all, Bill was known for his great sense of humor, quick wit and many wisecracks.

Bill met the love of his life in 1997, Abby O’Neill, and the two tied the knot on May 25, 2002. He leaves behind his beloved wife Abby; his three children from a previous marriage: Jamie (Adam) Decker, Amber (Roger) Deetz, and Cole Smalley; his brothers and sisters: Michael (Cathy) Smalley, Janet Lynn (Craig) Green, and Luanne (Michael) Vice; and his favorite mother-in-law: Susan O’Neill. Bill adored being ‘Uncle Goofball” to his five nieces and nephews: Kacie Waterman, Jadeyn Waterman, Jace Waterman, Olivia Jones, and Wyatt Jones.  We want to thank his close friends Richard Huff, Darryl Moss, and Larry Golden, who were great friends and immense support. He will also be sadly missed by his two dogs Riley and Boo Bear.
