Charles Donald (Don) Quick, 89, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones.
Don was born in Crookston, MN to Mary (Martin) & Theodore Quick. As a youth, his parents moved to Danville where he attended school. He was drafted into the US Army where he served during the Korean War.
Don is survived by his wife Shirley, whom he married on November 22, 1952. He also leaves behind his 2 children: Ronald “Kevin” (Bonnie) Quick, and Lori Lynn Warburton; granddaughter Nicole (Nick) Jackson; grandson: Jason Quick; 2 great-grandchildren: Dixie and Raylan Jackson; Sister Clara; and brothers Wayne (Elaine) and Bob.
Don was preceded by his parents; brother Clarence; sister Betty; and an infant brother.
Don was a carpenter & a general jack of all trades. He loved gardening, bowling and golfing. Don even achieved a hole in one on July 7, 2007 on the 17th hole, and was very proud to retell the story. As a youth, Don enjoyed Boy Scouts & later became a leader for many years for the troop that met at the Church. He cheered for the St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Illini. He loved his church, friends, and most of all his family.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 10-11am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1930 N. Bowman Avenue in Danville. Services will follow at 11am at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor James Yonkers officiating. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery with honors by American Legion Post 210.
