Charles "Charlie" Edward Coon II, 46, left this life peacefully surrounded by his family on June 15, 2019 after a battle with colon cancer.
Charlie was born on May 11, 1973 to Charles "Chuck" and Ruby (Claypool) Coon. He married his love of his life and high school sweetheart, Peggy S (Gnaden) Coon on December 17, 1993. Together they share 3 children: Savanna Coon, Neil (Alyxis Roy) Coon, and Leland Coon. They also have 1 granddaughter, Amber Coon- his Sweet Pea.
Surviving are his mom Ruby Coon, wife Peggy, children Savanna, Neil (Alyxis), and Leland, granddaughter Amber, 2 brothers Steven (Linda) Coon and John Coon, in-laws George (Bonnie) Gnaden, Elizabeth (Dan) Howie, Angie Zufall, David (Jen) Gnaden, Steven (Lori) Gnaden, Joshua (Colleen) Gnaden, Jason Johnson, Debbie (Kurt) Vowell, Vanessa (Doug) Hanson, Daniel (Samantha) Howie. Charlie had many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Charles "Chuck" Coon, grandson McCoy Coon, both sets of grandparents, brother Ricky Coon, and multiple loved ones and friends.
Charlie enjoyed spoiling his sweet pea Amber, doing yard work, fishing, collecting shot glasses, spending time with his wife and kids, watching St. Louis Cardinals. He put family first.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in his name. There is also a benefit scheduled for June 29, 2019 in his honor at The Saloon By The Rail in Tilton, IL. The family has asked everyone to come as they are as Charlie was a simple man. It can be your favorite baseball team t-shirt or a simple red shirt.
Services: Visitation will be held Thursday June 20, 2019 from 4pm-7pm at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Funeral Services will be held Friday June 21, 2019 at 10:00am at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Danville.
