Debra Sue (Stone) Darnell

   Debbie Darnell, 65 of Danville, left us suddenly on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Per her wishes, there will be private services for family and close friends.

   Debra was born on October 10, 1957 in Prague, Oklahoma to Jack and Carolyn (Foster) Stone. They moved to Danville when she was young and she attended Danville area schools, graduating from Danville High School in the mid-seventies. Debbie was a people person and worked as a waitress for many years, most recently at VIPS. She loved her family, doted on her children and her grandchildren, and could often be found out shopping or re-decorating the house.  Debbie believed the way to anyone’s heart was through their stomach and she showed her love by cooking for everyone she loved. You always left the house with a full stomach and an even fuller heart.

   Debbie married Derric Darnell on March 8, 2008 in Danville and the two have shared twenty-five wonderful years together. She also leaves behind her children: Angel Cotton, Amie Cotton, Devon Darnell, Gavyn Sapp, and Reyse Leader; and her brothers and sisters: Mike Stone, Cindy Kinney, Tina Stone, and Terri Walker.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Mylena Cotton.
