Delores Walton Obituary

Delores Ann Walton, 89 of Tilton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Hawthorne Inn, surrounded by those she loved. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 19th from 2-4pm at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Mass will be on Monday, February 20th at 10:30am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 444 E. Main Street, with Father Steven Loftus officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Delores was born February 9, 1934 in Westville to Kelly and Florence (Weisert) Boyle. She was a 1951 Catlin High School Graduate and Salutatorian. Throughout the years Delores not only raised her family, but worked as a cook at both St. Patrick and Holy Family School, as well as at Old National Bank where she was Teller of the Year twice. Delores volunteered with Faith In Action for many years, and was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Delores enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, and playing card games including Skip Bo. She enjoyed hosting the holidays and special occasions with her family, and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies were in your hand the moment you walked in the door.

Delores married Harry ‘Tom” Walton on July 3, 1954 in Westville and the two shared fifty years together before his passing in 2004. She leaves behind her children: Sue (Greg) Cunningham, Janet (Chris) Elliott, and Joseph (Tracy) Walton; eight grandchildren: Steven (Jamie) Brown, Kelsi (Clay) Cochran, Molly Walton, Karlie (Andrew) Bowman, Taylor and Trace Elliott, Hunter and Tanner Walton; and six great-grandchildren: Damian (Vickie), Dylan, Dalton, Ryker, Bauer, and Jace. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, a son Robin, sister Louise Wilson, and two brothers: Joseph and Richard Boyle.
