Donnie Ray Hutson Sr was born in Montezuma, Indiana on November 8, 1943 to Franklin and Ellen (Watts) Hutson. He passed peacefully at OSF Sacred Heart on October 26, 2022, surrounded by his loving family and friends, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Donnie is survived by his wife of 53 wonderful years, Hazel Marie Coon. He also leaves behind his children: David Hutson, Luella (Dino) Kargol, and Bill Guge; his grandchildren: Ashley, Mary, Jasmine, Zane, Dusty, and David (Jasmine) Hutson, William (Shaley) Guge III, Justin (Kayla) Guge, Donnie Hutson III, Tiffany and Earl Sapp, and Ryan Johnson; many great-grandchildren; and a brother Thomas D. (Maureen) Hutson. His longtime fur baby Druppy will also greatly miss him. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, son: Donnie R. Hutson Jr, granddaughter: Deanna Hutson, and many siblings, aunts, and uncles.
Donnie proudly served during Vietnam in the US Army from 1962 to 1965, spending much of his time in Germany. His passions were karaoke and spending time with his family having cookouts.
Visitation will be from 11-1pm on Friday, October 28th at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Services will follow at 1pm with Chaplain Thomas Mills officiating.
