Johnnie Frazier Jr. Obituary

     Johnnie Frazier Jr, age 95, went home to the Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at his home in Danville, Illinois after a short illness.

     He leaves behind waiting reunion his wife of 68 years, Lucille Thompson Machann Frazier, their children: Diana (Dean) Brennaman of Danville, Paul (Val) Frazier of Westville, Keith (Kelley) Frazier of Newman, Clayton (Debbie) Frazier of GA, Barry (Reina) Frazier of Longmont, CO, Lori Frazier of Danville, Beth (Mike) Glass of Florence, KY, 34 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, and 34 great-great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, one grandson, six great grandchildren, four brothers, and two sisters.

     Johnnie was born in Danville on September 23, 1926, to John A. and Ethel Leafy Frazier.  He attended Danville schools before joining the Navy to help fight WWII, serving on USS FRANKOVITCH APB, with active war action on DE66 USS AMESBURY APD 46, off Omaha Beach on D-Day.

     Johnnie married Alice Marema and together they had four children: John A (Ruby) Frazier who preceded him in death, also surviving awaiting reunion are their other children, twins Karen (Al) Leintz and Carol Frazier of Rantoul, and Sandra (Larry) Draper of Danville.

     Johnnie retired from General Motors Central Foundry in 2001, later working at Danville County Market for another 15 years before retiring again.  As he wished, Johnnie lived long enough to celebrate his beloved Cubs winning the World Series after 108 years.

     Farewell visitation will be held at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street, Danville, IL on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 1pm to 3pm.  Service will be on Monday, November 29, 2021 at noon with Rev. Phil Jackson officiating, and Rev Wiggins presenting the tribute.  Burial will be at Danville National Cemetery, with honors by American Legion Post 210.
