Joseph L. Wakeland, 79, of Danville, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 at home surrounded by family. Memorial Visitation will be from 4-7pm Friday, August 6, 2021 at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Memorial Service will be at 10am on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home.
Joe was born on March 17, 1942 in Danville to Joseph and Velma (Cox) Wakeland. Joe worked at Hyster for over 25 years, and later worked at Amvend for several years. Joe enjoyed golfing, going to races, and playing cards.
Joe married Cindy Smith on April 21, 1979, she survives. Also surviving are his children: Todd A. (Brenda) Wakeland and Tonya (Jim) Folsom; grandchildren: Todd A. Wakeland II and Emily, Lindsey, Bethany, Kelsey, Sam, Phil, and Josh Folsom; three step-grandchildren: Tiffany, Brandis, and Ashley; great-grandchildren: Brylee and Liam Wakeland; Sisters: Theda Mcquown and Helen Gouty. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Bill and Dan; and sisters: Dodgie, Pat, and Sue.
