Karen "Janie" Jane (Wright) Bireline

Karen Jane Bireline, known to everyone as Janie, 77 of Michigan and formerly of Danville, went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 27, 2023 at St. Mary’s Trinity Hospital in Grand Rapids. Visitation will be from 10-1pm on Wednesday, April 5th at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Services will follow at 1pm with Pastor Randall Robinson officiating. Janie will then be entombed with her beloved Rick in Spring Hill Mausoleum.

   Born August 2, 1945 to Marion and Margaret (Davis) Wright, Janie was their only daughter in a house full of boys. She attended Edison Grade School and Danville High School, graduating in 1963 and going on to attend DACC and Eastern Illinois University. She worked as president of Henry Bireline Company from 1991 until 2005 when her and Rick sold the business. Janie was a longtime member of St. James United Methodist Church where she also taught Sunday School; the Red Hat Society, Lake View Junior Auxiliary Board, Elk Bowling and Golf Association, Women’s United Fund Drive, and Edison PTA board. She enjoyed working in her garden, doing work in her yard, computers, and playing golf at Turtle Run. Janie’s biggest accomplishment in life were her children and her grandchildren-and she enjoyed every minute she spent with them.

    On December 30, 1966, Janie married the love of her life, Robert “Rick” Bireline. The two not only raised their family together, but worked side by side, and later enjoyed their retirement together until Rick’s death in December of 2009. Janie leaves behind her two sons: Robert Bireline and Christopher (Jill) Bireline; five grandchildren: Tyler, Katelyn, Matthew, Justin, and Alexis Bireline; two brothers: Marion (Darlene) Wright and Dennis (Peggy) Wright; and two sisters-in-law: Joyce Wright and Patricia (Mark) Paris. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rick, and her brother Fred Wright.
