Leona G. Miller, 92, of Danville, went home to be with the Lord at 9:15 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2020, at Hawthorne Nursing Home. She passed away peacefully.
Leona was born on September 2, 1927, the daughter of Maurice and Rachel Dieu. She graduated from Oakwood High School in 1945, and married Ernest Miller in 1947. They had one son, Ernie Gene.
A life-long resident of Batestown Road, Leona worked in the lunchroom at Diamond School for many years. She was also a volunteer at Grace and Truth in Hillery. Leona was a faithful member of her church, Hillery Bible Chapel. She loved God, her family, and her friends.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Eli Dieu and Eugene Dieu, both of Danville, and her nephew, Harold Dieu, of South Bend, Indiana.
She is survived by her niece, Karen Stimac (David) of Danville; her nephew, Gary Dieu, of Riverton, WY; her great nieces, Robyn (Doug) Weber, of Helena, Montana; Sarah (Dan) Boyer, of South Bend, Indiana; Mary McCall, of Boswell, Indiana; and Molly Stimac, of Naperville, Illinois. She is also survived by her great nephews, Troy Stimac, of Danville, and Travis Stimac, of Nashville, Tennessee.
