Lula was born on February 12, 1927 in Danville to William and Edna (Henderson) Crippin. She attended Danville grade schools through the eighth grade, and later went back and earned her GED. Lula enjoyed reading, doing her crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. She also loved spending time with family, celebrating the holidays, and watching television (typically CSI or another crime show). She was a great cook, and enjoyed sharing “her way” with all the kids.
