Mara Lucas Obituary

Mara Lou Lucas, 93, of Danville, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020 at Colonial Manor in Danville.  Visitation will be Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 10:30-11:30am at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville, where IDPH guidelines regarding mandatory masks and social distancing will be upheld.  Service will follow, with a private family burial at Danville National Cemetery.

Lou was born October 9, 1926 in Danville, Illinois to Archie and Helen (Hughes) Adams.  She loved to travel, and while stationed in the military with her husband, her favorite place was Hawaii, where she loved to be a tour guide when friends and family visited.  She loved to golf, was a Chicago Cubs fan, and had a great love for her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Lou married William Kenneth “Ken” Lucas on September 9, 1951 in Carson City, Nevada, and enjoyed over 60 years of marriage until his passing in 2012.  Survivors include a son: Robert (Sandra) Lucas; grandson: Joshua (Kate) Lucas; granddaughter: Laura (Jeremiah) Sprague; great-granddaughters:  Sydney, Stevie, and Saylor.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ken; infant daughter Ann Louise; sister Carol Adams; brothers: Robert Adams and Eugene Adams
