Michael Skidmore Obituary

Michael K. Skidmore Sr., 77, of Danville, passed away on Wednesday September 4th at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Michael was born May 10, 1942 in Bay City, Michigan, the son of David & Violet Skidmore.  Michael married Mary Peterson in 1961, and later divorced, but they remained great friends.  She preceded him in death in 2007.

Michael is survived by his children:  Penny (David) Ford of Henning, Raymond Skidmore of Georgetown, and Michael Jr. (Monica) Skidmore of Frederick Maryland, and a son that he raised as his own Lee (Christine) Brauninger of Burlington Wisconsin; 8 grandchildren: Joseph Ford, Benjamin Ford, Madeline Ford of Henning, Cole Skidmore of Westville, Jade Skidmore of Covington, Michael Skidmore III, Crevan Skidmore, and Ivan Skidmore of Frederick Maryland; and soon to be great-grandson to be born in November.

Michael worked 33 years at Danville Metal Stamping.  He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He loved playing Yatzee and watching wrestling.

The family would like to give thanks to Teddia Salter for taking care of Dad for many years.  And also CV, ICU at Carle Hospital for the great care he was given the last 2 ½ weeks before his passing.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated with a memorial to be held at a later date.  If anyone wished to make a donation, please make it to American Cancer Society in his name.
