Robert D. Wilson, 58 of Danville, left us suddenly on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at OSF Sacred Heart in Danville. Per his wishes, only private family services will be held.
Robert was born in Pontiac, IL on November 3, 1965 to Duane and Betty (Jonas) Wilson. He attended Urbana High School, later earning his GED and going on to take courses in Nursing and Paramed. Robert worked at the VA for nineteen years as a nurse.
Robert loved rooting on Purdue basketball, and being outdoors. He liked to fish and bow hunt. He had a passion for music, playing both the drums and bass guitar.
Robert married Nicole Porter on April 28, 2005 and the two have shared just shy of nineteen years by one another’s side. Robert leaves behind his wife Nickie; their three children: Jessica ‘Shamu” White, Dalton Wilson, and Dustin (Jordan) Morris; five grandchildren: Zofia, Gavin, Paisley, Ammi, and Lilith; his mother: Betty Mathews; and a sister: Tina (Brad) Johnson. His uncle Darrell Wilson, a niece: Lauren Johnson, several cousins, and his close friends Todd, Flo, and Kaci will also greatly miss him. He was preceded in death by his father Duane.
