Roy Smiley

Roy Smiley, 71, of Danville passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at OSF Hospital in Danville. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. IDPH Guidelines will be strictly followed regarding gathering limitations, masks, and social distancing. A private service will be held for immediate family Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 10 a.m. with the burial to follow at Songer Cemetery in Tilton. Graveside services are open to the public.

Roy was born September 23, 1949 in Danville to Lovell and Zella (Rodgers) Smiley. Roy worked and retired from Thyssen Krupp. He enjoyed simple things in life such as fishing, watching football, woodworking, and family dinners at Monical's. He also enjoyed attending car shows and the Covered Bridge Festival. Roy's greatest pride in life was being a father and grandfather.

Roy is survived by his children: Mark R Smiley of San Bernardino, CA, Matthew D. (Sarah) Smiley, and Ashley K (Ricky) Vaughn of Danville and grandchildren: Haley and Wyatt Smiley and Maverick and Demi Vaughn. Surviving siblings are Ruth Murphy of Tilton, Helen Simmons of Danville, and Keith (Ralphine) Smiley of Indianola. 

Roy was preceded in death by his parents: Lovell and Zella Smiley.
