Terrie Vaughn Obituary

Terrie Jean Vaughn (née Galey) of Danville, 66, passed away after a prolonged illness on Saturday, January 18th, 2020 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Terrie, born in Danville on November 2nd, 1953, was the youngest child of Floyd Galey and Genevieve Turner Kennedy. She was preceded in death by both parents, and siblings Dazie Bland, Thelma Pickering, Mary Smither, Richard Hobaugh Sr., Neoma Florence Keller, and Polly Galey. She was also preceded in death by her beloved Cocker Spaniels, Bridget and Mert.

She is survived by her husband, Elvin “Bud,” three sisters: Leanna (Charles) Thomas, Molly Galey, and Colleen (Mohammad) Samii, step-brother Dennis Michael  (Joyce) Kennedy, longtime friend Cindy Pate, sister-in-law Jean Norton (Polly Galey), and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Bud and Terrie were married during a romantic Valentine’s Day ceremony in 1995. She was an avid Cardinals fan and rarely missed watching a game with Bud. Terrie was happiest when she worked as a childcare provider, a career that suited her caring, nurturing disposition. As strong as she was caring, her unabashed nature could be observed in her ability to efficiently chug a beer. She will be remembered for her bold, fun-loving nature, and will be greatly missed.
