Virginia "Jenny" Sue (Calvert) Waters

Jenny Sue Waters, 66 of Danville, was reunited with her loved ones in Heaven, on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at her home. She passed peacefully surrounded by those she loved, after a long and courageous fight with cancer. Visitation will be at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville on Monday, November 7th from 11-1pm. Funeral services will follow at 1pm with Pastor Doug Knapp officiating, and burial will be in Hoopeston at Floral Hill Cemetery immediately after. Per Jenny’s request, please be yourself and dress casually.

   Jenny was born on November 14, 1955 to Cleo and Shirley (Baker) Calvert. She attended Hoopeston and Wellington schools, and went on to attend DACC for CNA classes and phlebotomy. She was a Phlebotomy instructor at DACC for many years. Jenny worked at OSF for twenty-plus years, and later at the Danville VA as a Phlebotomist. She retired in 2019 and then went to work at Christie Clinic. Jenny enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, throwing a good game of horseshoes, and hosting cook-outs. She could also be found enjoying her flowers in the back yard.

   Jenny leaves behind her children: Dina Steele, Paul Pruitt, and Brian (Samantha) Pruitt; her soulmate and fiancé: David Sumner; her grandchildren: Clayton (Brandi) Steele, Chyann (Andrew) Alvarez, Austin (Mal) Steele, Alexus Pruitt, Serenity (Dom) Divan, Destiny Steele, Virginia (Brian) Divan, and Izzabella Divan; and eleven great grandchildren. Her siblings: Linda (Gilbert) Mockbee, Carol (Butch) Schroeder, Allen (Jo) Calvert, Lorie Elem, Randie (Lynn) Calvert, and Jerry (Michelle) Calvert; and her best friend Lori Lawrence will also miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents.
